Batman Confronts the Joker in a New Clip From Injustice

Batman Debates the Joker in a New Clip From Injustice

The Man of Steel really isn’t having the best day. Next week, Warner Bros. Animation will debut their next big DC adaptation, Injustice. Ahead of its release, the studio (via IGN) has released a new clip from the film that shows Batman having a tête-à-tête with the Joker over Superman’s fragile mental state.

Just like the video games that inspired it, Injustice will imagine an alternate DC Universe where Superman is spurred to establish a new world order after the Joker tricks him into killing a pregnant Lois Lane and annihilating Metropolis with a nuclear explosion. The new clip appears to pick up sometime after the cataclysm. In an interrogation room, the Joker (Kevin Pollak) taunts Batman (Anson Mount) about his plan’s success. And while the villain insists that Superman is heading for a breakdown, the Dark Knight refuses to believe it.

Sadly, it isn’t long before Superman (Justin Hartley) himself arrives and immediately proves the Joker right. The clip cuts out right before the hero can lay a hand on the Clown Prince of Crime. But as anyone who’s played the games (or watched last month’s red band trailer) knows, their encounter doesn’t exactly end well…

Matt Peters directed Injustice from a screenplay by Ernie Altbacker. The voice cast also includes Janet Varney (Wonder Woman), Brian T. Delaney (Green Lantern), Brandon Michael Hall (Cyborg), Gillian Jacobs (Harley Quinn), Yuri Lowenthal (Mirror Master, The Flash, and Shazam), Derek Phillips (Nightwing and Aquaman), Anika Noni Rose (Catwoman), Edwin Hodge (Mr. Terrific and Killer Croc) and Oliver Hudson (Plastic Man).

Injustice will arrive on 4K, Blu-ray, and digital platforms on October 19.
